Teachers


Principal
Our principal is Ms Shirley Loke, who deals with the students on a daily basis, assisting them with anything and everything they need during school hours. She also teaches the Malay Language for all the years (Year 7 to 10) as well as Economics Year 10 and 11.


Language Department

Ms Joline Tang
Ms Joline teaches English as a first language. She believes that language learning is a marathon rather than a sprint. Time, effort and interest are the key ingredients in learning English. She teaches Year 10 and 11 English. Her specialises in English as a first language. In addition to IGCSE English, she also specializes in MUET, IELTS and TOEFL. She has been teaching and assisting students in their preparation for these English exams for over a decade. She maintains a blog for MUET students at www.muettuition.blogspot.com. At Oxburgh Academy, she is also in charge of the academic aspects of the school, doubling as Academic Coordinator.

Mr Loke Keen Sun
Mr Loke is a keen reader and learner. He teaches English as a first language Year 5, 7, 8, 9 and 10. In addition to the Intensive English classes. His classes are fun and learner centred. He graduated from UPM and completed the CELTA teacher's course at the British Council.

Ms Sara Vahabi
Ms Sara is a kind hearted and sweet natured teacher, while at the same time able to handle her energetic charges with ease. Her classes are driven and intensive. She graduated with a degree in English Literature and also holds a Masters in English Literature from UPM.

Mrs Fiona Howells
Mrs Fiona works with kids on literacy programs and is in charge of the English Literature classes for the Primary and Lower Secondary school students. She has a degree in Education from the University of Bristol and a CELTA graduate as well.

Ms Chea
Ms Chea is the Mandarin teacher in Oxburgh. She teaches both Mandarin as a first language and second language. Her students have fun in class whilst learning Mandarin!


Science and Mathematics Department

Dr Hayley How
Dr Hayley is the school science wizard, as she graduated with a doctorate in Chemistry and Biology. She teaches Year 10 and 11 Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Enthusiastic and caring, she nurtures her class with knowledge and lots of love. Dr Hayley is also the Head of Science, as she ensures the systematic execution of the Science syllabus.

Mrs Humaira Asim
Mrs Humaira has been teaching the IGCSE syllabus for 9 years. Armed with a degree and Masters degree in Chemistry, she leads and inspires her students in their learning journey. She loves taking the kids to the lab and exploring science through experiments and observation.

Ms Sook Ling
Ms Sook Ling is armed with a degree in Psychology and in the process of completing her certification as a counsellor. She is also a self-professed science geek in school. Sook Ling teaches Pre Year 7 and Year 7 science as well as Mathematics. Her students love her for her kind and considerate nature, and she is always there to lend a ear to the young students in the school. Students are happy as they go about planting and learning about plants, animals, rock formations etc.

Ms Cheryl Han
Ms Cheryl is a student favourite as she encourages her students in Year 7 and 8 to LOVE math. She dedicates much effort to ensure all her students keep up in class. No one is ever left behind. Often times, she is caught conducting extra classes for any student who wants more time with her.

Mrs Presetha Ajith Kumar
Mrs Presetha hails from India, however, spend her entire teaching career in Bahrain, attached to the Al Noor International School for over 10 years. She specialises in IGCSE Mathematics and Additional Mathematics. Mrs Presetha teaches our Year 10 and 11 Mathematics classes.

Mr Phillip Tang
Mr Phillip has years and years of experience teaching IGCSE Computer Studies, Mathematics and Accounting. As a matter of fact, he is a Chartered Accountant! Funny and witty in the classroom, the students love him and his lessons!

Ms Dhanya Rajesh
Ms Dhanya loves and adores children. She has experience working with young children and she teaches the year 1 and year 5 mathematics classes, in addition to Year 7 and 8 History classes. She teaches the primary students the essential skills of learning in their study skills classes.
